Visiting Lay Readers

At St Paul's we sometimes have lay readers who are mainly based in other churches in our Deanery who come to help us out by taking services. Pictured below is Sue Shellien, one of the readers from St Basil and All Saints Church in Hough Green. Sue has officaited at several of our evening services and has occasionally led us in worship on a Sunday morning. She qualified as a lay reader in 2006.

Another friend of St Paul's church is Roy Allen. Roy's usual church is St Mary's in Great Sankey. Roy's enthusiastic style preaching has often inspired us on a  Sunday evening. He has occasionally led us in some morning services. He has served in the Church of England as a lay reader for many years.
