Harvest 2009: Turn on the Tap

Our lovely harvest service gave thanks for the harvest in the traditional way.  Additionally, our awareness of fair trade issues was raised during the  service. After last year’s harvest service, many people took home water bottles which they filled throughout the year with loose change in order to support the Samaritan’s Purse Turn on the Tap appeal. They were brought back this year. Alongside that effort, delicious home made cakes, fair trade goods and products and trade craft products were available after service and additional funds were raised. Helping others has never tasted so good! Altogether, over £250 was raised for the Turn on the Tap appeal.

At St Paul’s Church, we donate 10% of our income to our linked missionary organisations. Letters acknowledging the receipt donations have been received from Tear Fund; Church Missionary Society (CMS); South American Missionary Society (SAMS) and Church Pastoral Aid Society (CPAS). The letters are displayed on the missionary notice board at the back of church.

Prayer requests asking our congregation for prayer support for some specific aspects of the societies’ missionary projects are also displayed on the notice board at the back of church.
