In May 2010 St Paul's Widnes came together with St Mary's West Bank and St Mary's Hale with Halebank to form the South Widnes Team.
The three churches remain separate communities, with their own calling make the message of God's love known through words and actions in their own parishes. But we are no longer alone.
The most obvious difference this makes is with our clergy. Rather than the old pattern of a sole (alone?) vicar, there is a clergy team for three churches. We have two 'vicars' for the three churches, plus a 'curate' (apprentice). You can find out more about them here. Our clergy team work together across all three churches, so they can support each other and play to their strengths.
Gradually the three churches are also identifying things that they can best do together. For example, we have had a number of 'teaching mornings', when people from all three churches have gathered to learn together.
