Our Services

In January 2011 we launched a new pattern of services to better meet the needs of both newcomers and long-standing members of St Paul's, and those who prefer sometime more traditional, or something more informal.

Everyone is welcome at any of these services. Just give it a try.

Sunday 9.30 - Traditional Worship

The 9.30 service is relaxed and friendly, but has a traditional feel to it. The music is generally hymns accompanied by the organ; the clergy are robed. Generally one the first and third Sundays of the month we will have communion. The service lasts 45-50 minutes long, and is followed by refreshments in the Church Hall which is next to the Church. If you are comfortable with traditional church services, or particularly value some peace and quiet, this is for you.

Sunday 4pm - St Paul's @ 4

St Paul's @ 4 is a new style of church. It aims to be informal and relaxed, and to work every week for all-ages (we can easily have people from 6 months to their 80s).The music tends to be modern, and the services tend to involve getting to know each other, and even moving around. Each week there will be some time for the children do learn through craft, while the adults have their own time. The service lasts for 45 minutes, and we always have some food (often pizzas) together afterwards, so we can grow together as a community.

Wednesday 1pm - Midweek Communion

This is a simple, quiet (no singing!) service of communion, with a short reflection. An oasis of peace in the week, whether you are not in work, or work in the centre of Widnes and can get away for 30 minutes.
